Where to get your Irish on in King West

St. Patrick’s Day is here and suddenly, the year is almost 25% gone. How do we deal with this somewhat irrelevant fact you probably don’t care about? We pretend we’re Irish and you drink whiskey, beer, and green beer (because the latter two are  completely different things). Here are a few spots in King West to check out today.

Firkin on King
461 King St. W

Beer at Firkin on King

What you want to know, the drink deals;

  • $5.00 Jameson shots
  • $5.00 Lucky Charm shots

There is no cover charge so you can spend that extra cash on their St. Patrick’s Day menu, or more beer. Guinness and cheddar soup, St. James’s gate sliders, Dublin spuds, “Blarneystone” burger, and traditional Irish stew are all on the menu. They plan on having a ton of giveaways and live music from The High Rollers, Good Little Robot, and Buckfast.

Bier Markt

600 King St. W

Beer taps at Bier MarktGet your ‘fancy’ drink on with;

  • $5.00 16oz pints of Alexander Keith’s India Pale Ale
  • $10.00 1L steins of Alexander Keith’s India Pale Ale
  • Green Keith’s Beer

In your drunken stupor, you may even win their giveaway, a Keith’s mini fridge. Cover is $5.00 after 4:00p.m. and all proceeds go to the Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation (you’re drinking for a good cause, so go on and have another round!).

The Lauren Roy Band will be playing. Live music + Beer + Free stuff = Good times.

Bar Hop
391 King St. W

Bar at Bar Hop

What you really need to know;

  •  NO GREEN BEER.

No green beer? Bar Hop isn’t doing anything specific for St. Patrick’s Day, but with good ole fashioned beer and “buck a shuck” oyster specials on Tuesday, it’s definitely worth checking out.
